Flame refers to the potential for passion all humans harbor.  Flame can be quite delicate and personal fuel is certainly in limited supply.  This piece poses a question to the viewer, "Would you light her candle?"  Have you been responsible for lighting the passions of others?  Have you taken advantage of other's passion and snuffed their flame out?

All potters (ceramists) are basically pryomaniacs.  I know I love fire.
